ILLUMIFacial uneven skin tone
PhotoFacials have quickly become the new 'go to' for skin rejuvenation and treating common skin concerns. Combining medical grade products and Lynton's outstanding medical grade IPL technology, you will not want to miss this.

What is a PhotoFacial?

A Photofacial is an IPL Facial, that is specially designed to target multiple skin concerns.  IPL stands for ‘intense pulsed light’.  IPL treatments are very clever, as they target multiple skin concerns at once.  During the treatment, the IPL device is specially calibrated to target skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation and sun damage, redness and uneven skin tone.  It also triggers your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production in the skin, without causes any lasting damage to the dermal (deeper) layers of your skin.  The Lynton illumiFacial combines the power of IPL Photofacial, together with medical grade products, to help you achieve even more from this incredible treatment.

Lets have a look at the benefits of this amazing treatment:

Lynton illumiFacial Photofacial Treatment

The illumiFacial is Lynton’s advanced Photofacial . It’s a 4 Stage treatment.

STAGE 1. CLEANSE: The first step to achieving clear, healthy, radiant skin will involve a deep cleanse, using a specialist formulation to remove any impurities from your skin.

STAGE 2. TRI-FRUIT ACID PEEL: A unique Tri-Fruit Acid Lynton Fruit Peel will be applied to your skin, for between 3-10 minutes. The peel resurfaces skin texture and decongests pores, priming the skin ready for stage 3 of the illumiFacial.

STAGE 3. LYNTON IPL: Post fruit peel, your skin will be at it’s optimum condition for the application of the award winning Lynton Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment. This works by both stimulating collagen and targeting any discolouration on your skin, eg. freckles, pigmentation, vascular breakouts, general redness – making it perfect for uneven skin tones. In most cases, the results are instant, providing you with dramatically clearer and firmer skin.

STAGE 4. HYDRATE & PROTECT: To help maximise your results, a trio of specialist serums will be applied to your skin post-IPL, helping to soothe, regenerate and protect your skin.

Meet the Lynton 3Juve System

Lynton 3Juve skin system is one of the most effective and safe skin treatment systems available in the industry. I love Lynton for their incredibly high standards and results, which come from over 25 years being the industry leader. They our so good that our own NHS use their lasers in clinical practice.

IPL laser treatment is the most effect way to treat uneven skin tone and address pigmentation and vascular skin conditions. Light is released in short pulses that are readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within your pigmented areas on your skin.  The rapid absorption of light energy heats the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin-rich cells. So like magic, they are broken down.

Prior to having a treatment for the illumiFacial, you will need to have a consultation and patch test.

A typical course of treatment is 6 Photofacial treatments carried out 4 weeks apart.

How can I help you?

I have been passionate about skin (read ‘obsessed’) for the best part of a decade. Whilst I love products & treatments, I know that there is a lot more to beautiful skin than these alone.

As a qualified Nutritional Therapist, I know that what you put into your body is equally as powerful and effective as what you put onto your skin.

I have also personally experienced many skin challenges during my stressful corporate career and in more recent years, hormone related skin issues. So I have experienced first hand the effects of stress, insomnia, poor nutrition and hormone imbalances – and it’s not fun is it!

My goal is to help you to manage your skin, improve your well-being and energy levels, plus learn how to look after your skin for the long term, in a simple, sustainable way – with that little bit of luxury that we all deserve!

I know that sometimes the thought of making changes to our routines and lifestyle can be daunting, but I promise you there’s nothing radical here, it’s about helping you to create small, incremental changes for the long term. I have nearly 15 years experience as a coach, helping individuals to achieve their goals, so rest assured I will be there to help you through your transformation.

Some frequently asked questions

Light is released in short pulses that are readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within pigmented lesions. The rapid absorption of light energy heats the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin-rich cells.

With vascular conditions such as thread veins or broken capillaries, the laser targets the blood vessels, causes them to be destroyed. They then break down as part of the natural healing process in the skin.

The light applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

Most people are suitable for treatment except for very dark skinned or tanned individuals. However, large, dark, mottled or raised pigmentation cannot be treated and may need to be checked by a dermatologist. Large, dark moles should not be treated, nor should lesions covering a large part of the body. The pigmented marks that respond the best are superficial lesions such as those caused by sun damage (sun spots) and freckles.

The following are contraindications to IPL and Fractional / Resurfacing laser:

Sun tan / use of sun beds or fake tan / use of tanning injections / any other
tanning products
• A history of keloid scarring
• Used St John’s Wort in the past 1 month
• Pregnancy
• Used Roaccutane within the past 6 months
• Recent use of Amiodarone or Minocycline
• Photosensitive Skin or any photosensitizing conditions (such as porphyria or
lupus)
• Uncontrolled Epilepsy
• Cancer, in particular skin cancer or other malignant disease
• Herpes Simplex within the last month
• Any inflammatory skin condition, skin lesions or open wounds in the treatment
area
• Skin pigment disorders such as melasma (usually starts in pregnancy or as a result of taking hormone drugs. It tends to affect the face, getting worse in the summer with sun exposure, and settling in the winter months).
• Healing disorders such as those caused by Diabetes Mellitus, connective tissue
disease (e.g. lupus), radiation therapy or chemotherapy
• High-dose use of systemic or topical steroids
• Cannot treat directly over any tattoos or semi-permanent make-up with the IPL
• Recent use of Drugs administered for Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), e.g.
Photofrin, Foscan.
• Immune / lymphatic system disorders

In addition to the contraindications outlined above, people in the following groups
are likely to see minimal improvement
• Smokers
• Clients with excessive alcohol consumption
• Those with severe wrinkling and photo-aging

With the illumiFacial, the results are often instant – leaving you with visibly clearer and more youthful skin. Most people have very little side effects, only noticing brighter skin, seeing significant improvement in uneven skin tone.   The treated area may feel warm and sensitive for the first few days post treatment. Any pigmentation or vascular lesions may darken and may appear more obvious before they fade and ‘flake’ away. Sometimes an initial whitening of the area is seen which quickly fades and the pigment gradually fades over the following few weeks.

The skin that surrounds the pigmented lesion may become red immediately after treatment. Most people experience no other side effects and the redness usually disappears within hours to a few days. Very rarely a small blister may form or the skin may become temporarily lighter or darker.

A course of 3-6 illumiFacial treatments are recommended,  at 4 to 6 week intervals.

Are you ready to transform your skin and well-being?

My skin! At last I have found a treatment that actually works. I found myself looking at my skin a week after my first treatment and noticing how much softer the lines and wrinkles were. I couldn't believe it. After my initial course of treatment I decided to have a monthly maintenance treatment, because I love it so much (plus I like to catch up with Nikki). Thank you for helping me look less haggered - haha! x
