Breast Cancer Treatments
Using advanced techniques in the Medical Tattooing field it is now possible to create incredibly realistic areola and 3D nipples. Prescribed pigments are used to create the perfect colour and look for you.
This treatment is still relatively unknown, but in my experience it really makes such a difference to my patients’ confidence. Areola and Nipple tattooing is suitable for the following patients:
- Post breast reconstruction surgery, following either a major lumpectomy or single/double mastectomy.
- Post breast augmentation, where the areola and/or nipple has been moved or removed.
- Those with uneven areolas who wish to gain more symmetry.
- Post transgender surgery.
If you have scarring that you would like to improve the appearance or feel of as a result of your surgery, please let us know. We can offer scar improvement treatments that will significantly improve your scars and this may need to be carried out prior to your areola tattooing.
I am an approved Medical Tattooist for BUPA private medical insurers for 3D areola and nipple tattooing. As of August 2018, I am delighted to announce that fees are now covered in FULL for BUPA patients that have this treatment with me (as long as it is part of your policy cover), so no further fees are due. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss either the treatment or the approval process.
Why I do Breast Cancer Treatments
Offering breast cancer treatments is something that is very close to my heart. I re-trained as a Medical Tattooist after being inspired by one of my lovely friends who had breast cancer.
My treatments are focused on helping you to feel more confident and more like ‘you’ again.
In addition to the treatments I offer, I also work for Look Good Feel Better cancer charity. I have a lot of wonderful connections in different fields and locations that can also support you, a family member or friends, so please get in touch if you would like any advice or guidance. I often share information about where you can get further support in my Blog posts.
Medical and Cosmetic Tattooing for Breast Cancer
I feel very privileged to be part of the incredible work we do.
Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is the ONLY international cancer support charity, providing practical, effective and free services for women and teenagers struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment.
I volunteered as a makeup up artist for two years at their Guildford and Reading workshops. I really wanted to support ladies going through cancer treatment in a positive way. At the Reading workshops I realised that there were a lot of women travelling from the Basingstoke area, as this was their nearest location. It really is quite a trek, particularly if you are in the middle of treatment. Consequently I fought for a year to get the workshops into Basingstoke Hospital and was delighted to finally launch in Basingstoke in November 2018, where I am now the Regional Coordinator.
EXCITING NEWS: I will now be holding workshops at Winchester hospital too.
I love running these sessions! If you attend, you will be gifted gorgeous beauty bags, which have products that have been donated from the leading beauty houses. At the workshop, I take you through a fun two hours of using all the products in our 12-step program. While the workshops are a great source of information, the real joy is seeing how everyone’s confidence grows and the new friendships that blossom.
At the time of writing, I’d like to share this with you: I ran a workshop last night and when I left, four of the ladies were sat in the waiting area having a coffee together, laughing and swapping telephone numbers! Now THAT’s the real beauty and benefit of the workshops.
We are in over 150 hospitals nationwide now, with new locations popping up all the time. For further information please click here http://www.lookgoodfeelbetter.co.uk/workshops-and-advice
