Radiofrequency Microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling is the superhero treatment that many of us have been looking for (definitely me, with my menopausal skin!). Radiofrequency microneedling combines the power of collagen induction from microneedling, together with the super power of radiofrequency (thermal/heat), to achieve a tightening & lifting affect.

Radiofrequency microneedling with the Focus Dual

When I first looked into introducing radiofrequency into my clinic in Hampshire, I was torn between two systems – I’ll be honest with you! I looked at radiofrequency microneedling with Lynton’s Focus Dual (the system I chose), and Morpheus8.

I’ll confess I was blindsided by the celebrity tag that went with the Morpheus8, and celebs like Kim K and Judy Murray was boasting about the results, I was tempted. So tempted that I had a treatment and a demo, even though I’m a loyal Lynton Customer!

But the Lynton Focus Dual radiofrequency microneedling had an edge, and the treatments were more adaptable – plus they didn’t have quite the hefty price tag of the Morpheus8 treatment.  So, lets look at what’s unique about my Focus Dual.

Meet the Focus Dual

First off, the Focus Dual has one hand piece for radiofrequency microneedling and one for HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound). This makes it a magical combination, for the ultimate in non surgical anti ageing treatments.

The radiofrequency microneedling treatments treat the skin from the surface level down, and HIFU picks up at the level that RF microneedling leaves off – so all layers of the skin are targeted.  The combined effect is an incredible tightening and lifting effect, as well as addressing signs of ageing such as lines & wrinkles, and skin tone & texture.

These treatments are really versatile and can be used on the face, neck & decolletage, and also on the body for areas like the tummy and arms. It’s very popular for mum tums and bingo wings!

Focus Dual RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling with the Lynton Focus Dual has some unique features, that are designed to give you the maximum results, but also to maximise your comfort and minimise your down time. It’s a win/win.

It has a unique vacuum system, which ensures that the needles are penetrating your skin at the exact depth they should be. This also minimises your discomfort too.

The treatment is adaptable for each individual client. As a practitioner, I can be extremely specific with the settings, ensuring you get the maximum results for your skin concerns and goals. It’s not a ‘one size fits all’ treatment at all.

Radiofrequency Microneedling Before & After

Radiofrequency Microneedling treatments are THE treatment of the hour, combining two amazing technologies for incredible results!

The first picture was taken just 3 weeks after ONE RF microneedling session.  A typical course is 3-6 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, and then you move into maintenance of 2-4 times a year, depending on how your skin is naturally ageing.

Radiofrequency microneedling is great for treating areas with deeper lines & wrinkles, such as those on the forehead, around the eyes, and also around the mouth.  Wave goodbye to the frown lines and smokers lines – as they become softer and less noticeable with treatment.

Non-surgical face-lift treatment

Would you love to lift and tighten your skin, but don’t fancy the pain (or cost) of having a facelift? Well,  radiofrequency microneedling is for you! RF microneedling treatments are fantastic for lifting and tightening your skin on your face, neck and décolletage – and actually, all over your body.

If you’re aged 45 or below, then radiofrequency microneedling may be all you need for firmer, tighter and more lifted skin. However, if you’re looking for more of a targeted lift, then HIFU is a great treatment to have radiofrequency microneedling alongside.

These two treatments together, allow the skin to be treated at the level that a plastic surgeon would target, during a face-lift procedure. The combination of radiofrequency microneedling and HIFU are often a combination I’ll recommend if you’re age 50+, when your natural collagen levels have declined significantly, due to hormonal changes.

Radiofrequency Microneedling for Scars

I have SO many scars, that I’m not even sure of how many exactly, that I have. But after 13 operations and a handful of accidents, it’s a lot!

Radiofrequency microneedling is a a ‘dual’ treatment, as you get the benefit of microneedling and the thermal benefit of the radiofrequency. Together, they stimulate increased collagen and elastin, in  response to the minor controlled trauma that they cause to your skin.

RF microneedling treatments break down your old scar tissue caused by what I refer to as ‘rapid response to trauma’. When you have an injury, your body very cleverly knows what to do. With the initial injury, your body kicks into healing mode. Often, too much collagen is produced during this time, which is why you are left with white, raised (or sunken scarring). Radiofrequency microneedling breaks down the old scar tissue and stimulates a much gentler  healing response, so healthy fresh collagen and elastin are produced.  It also triggers melanin production in your skin, which is what gives your skin it’s natural skin tone.

Microneedling has long been a favourite of mine for scar improvement treatments. The addition of RF leaves you with even better results, and with a quicker recovery time too!

Radiofrequency Microneedling Treatments & Supplements

Having a background in nutritional therapy means that I will work with you to support your skin from the inside out, during  your treatment program.

Supplements are an incredibly helpful way to help boost your skin’s natural ability to produce collagen, support healthy skin cell production and reduce inflammation.

I recommend taking supplement during a course of radiofrequency microneedling treatments, as they help to ensure you achieve the best possible results. We will also talk about simple and sustainable lifestyle and nutrition changes that you can make, to help support your skin too.  Working from the outside in and inside out will ensure you get the best possible results, both in the short and long term.

I prescribe Advanced Nutrition Programme or Rejuvenated supplements, as they are perfect for helping you achieve your long term skin goals.

Radiofrequency microneedling & skincare

When all of the good work of radiofrequency microneedling is done, it’s important to support your skin with good quality skincare. At the top of my list of recommendations is SUNSCREEN! You have probably noticed that I tend to put it in capitals and bold – and that’s testament to how important it really is.

UV rays degrade and destroy collagen, and UVA rays are responsible for 80-90% of premature ageing. If you’re not using sunscreen after your treatments, you’re literally wasting your money, it’s that simple and straight forward.

But you can go a step further with active ingredients such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and retinol. All of these ingredients support healthy cell turn over, promote healthy collagen and elastin production (essential for youthful, healthy skin), and ensure your skin is soft and supple. Investing in a skin care routine with high quality active ingredients will help you have longer lasting results from treatments, and go longer between maintenance treatments.

RF microneedling and Lifestyle

You can’t achieve your best possible skin, without looking at the lifestyle factors that affect it.

When we work together, we assess all of the areas that affect your skin health, so we can find some quick wins for you. You can make simple changes to improve your lifestyle, that will truly benefit your skin.

As the largest organ of your body, your skin responds to everything that’s going on internally, and externally. So, focusing on treatments and products alone, will never give you the BEST possible results.

My top tip is to aim for 7-9 hours of sleep a night. Your skin regenerates and repairs at night. It flushes out toxins and fluid, and produces fresh collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. If you’re not getting sufficient sleep, then your skin will be looking puffy, tired and dull. It’s called ‘beauty sleep’ for a reason!

How can I help you?

I have been passionate about skin (read ‘obsessed’) for the best part of a decade. Whilst I love products & treatments, I know that there is a lot more to beautiful skin than these alone.

As a qualified Nutritional Therapist, I know that what you put into your body is equally as powerful and effective as what you put onto your skin.

I know first hand how our skin and scar concerns can affect you. With multiple surgeries behind me, I’m covered in scars. And, going through the menopause myself, I am well versed in the challenges that can affect you, and the havoc that plays with your skin (and confidence!).

I know that sometimes the thought of making changes to our routines and lifestyle can be daunting, but I promise you there’s nothing radical here, it’s about helping you to create small, incremental changes for the long term. I have nearly 15 years experience as a coach, helping individuals to achieve their goals, so rest assured I will be there to help you through your transformation.

Are you ready to commit to your best skin ever?

Are you ready to transform your skin and well-being?

My skin! At last I have found a treatment that actually works. I found myself looking at my skin a week after my first treatment and noticing how much softer the lines and wrinkles were. I couldn't believe it. After my initial course of treatment I decided to have a monthly maintenance treatment, because I love it so much (plus I like to catch up with Nikki). Thank you for helping me look less haggered - haha! x
