HIFU before and after pictures are pretty impressive, but the magic really happens weeks after treatment!
My lovely client kindly agreed for me to share her photos, which are just fabulous. This HIFU before and after picture is actually a combination of IPL illumiFacial and HIFU. My client had two illumiFacials for sun damage, and this photo was taken just 4 weeks after her first HIFU facial. Pretty impressive isn’t it.
The beauty of HIFU, which is a non-surgical face lift treatment, is that the results continue for around 12-16 weeks after treatment. You’ll typically have 2-3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart, and then maintenance every 1-2 years (sadly, we can’t stop the aging process, we can only maintain it).
HIFU BEFORE AND AFTER - HOW IT WORKS
The HIFU before and after pictures are pretty impressive, so how does it work?
It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of treatments that stimulate your skin to produce fresh collagen and elastin, in response to a very minor, controlled trauma. I like to this it’s tricking your skin into doing it what it was fabulously good at doing in your early twenties! It’s baffling to think that your skin slows down it’s collagen and elastin production (responsible for that youthful, plump skin) from your mid to late twenties – just at the point that life gets really good – in crashes mother nature with a blow like this!
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It works by targeting the skin at different levels, heating it to around 65 degrees. In response to this thermal trauma, your skin products fresh collagen and elastin, and also contracts and tightens in response to the treatment. The overall results is tighter, firmer and more lifted skin – even after just one treatment!
One of the many great things about HIFU is that it carries on working, long after you’ve had your treatment. In fact, if you compared HIFU before and after results immediately after and then 1 month, 3 month and 6 months later – you’ll be delighted to see that you’ll continue to see improvements. I always recommend that you take photos, so you can see your progress, because it can be hard to notice when you look in the mirror every day!

There’s nothing scary and it’s one of the reasons it’s been termed the ‘lunchtime face lift’! Nobody would know you’ve had anything done. The treatment isn’t painful, you may just experience a little tingling in some areas. The clever team at Lynton, who created the Focus Dual, have introduced a fancy targeted transducer, that helps to focus the ultrasound in the exact depths of your skin, reducing heating and irritation to the surface of your skin.
You can see there there is an immediate effect, where your skin responds to the initial treatment, but this is just the beginning. It’s only the start of the transformation.
