Best Anti Ageing Treatment and Products.

How many times have you typed ‘best anti ageing treatment and products‘ into Google?!  If you’re anything like me then you’ve probably lost count! I’m mid 40’s and I can honestly say this was a regular question I asked Google for 10 years – with many, many confusing responses. I spent a small fortune trying out all sorts of ‘miracle’ products.

I like to think I’d always kept up to date with the skin and beauty world, but with so many clever marketeers around, I was enticed into trying products that either weren’t right for my skin or  just didn’t deliver the results they promised.

When I waved goodbye to corporate life over 8 years ago, I embarked on a massive career change.  These days I’m a Medical & Cosmetic Tattooist, with a special passion for skin renewal and rejuvenation. Aside from my tattooing treatments, I specialise in treatments for scar and burn tissue, together with advanced anti ageing facials that actually deliver the results I craved for years.  So I’d like to share a little of my geeky knowledge with you here.

There are multiple factors to consider if you’d like to improve your skin, so lets have a look at them together. The first thing to bear in mind is that your skin is the largest organ in your body and it’s entirely unique to you.  So there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach to skincare or skin treatments.  The best thing to do is to have a consultation with a skincare expert, so they can assess your skin and your lifestyle before recommending a bespoke treatment plan for you.

Lets have a look at the different elements of what makes the best anti ageing treatment and products shall we.

Is there a ‘Best Anti Ageing Facial?’

Is there a best anti ageing facial

Let’s firstly look at the treatment side of the ‘Best Anti Ageing Treatment and Product’ question.  There any many different anti ageing facials around, some with spectacularly fancy names! The answer to this question really comes down to two things. Firstly, your skin type and secondly, your desired result/outcome of treatment.

Treatments such as Dermaplaning are fantastic for creating fresh glowing skin, as it removes the dead skin cells and peach fuzz hair from your face.  Think of this as your ultimate exfoliating treatment!  It’s also great for skin that’s prone to breakouts, as the removal of dead skin cells / peach fuzz reduces dirt and bacteria on the skin.

Then you’ve got your tightening treatments, such as CACI.  I know many ladies that swear by CACI treatments to help maintain tighter, firmer skin.   Think of this as a little gym workout for your face (and neck), a Slendertone tightening device for the face, if you will.

LED Light Therapy is great for treating concerns such as rosacea, acne, hyperpigmentation.  Combining LED Light therapy with other treatments and products can really help some of the more complex skin concerns that can’t be treated with a lot of other treatments.

Now, I am going to confess to being biased about the next treatment! I’ve trained in a number of different facials over the years and this is the only one I swear by and it’s one of only TWO facial treatments I offer in my Clinic (the other is Dermaplaning, in case you were wondering). I do also use LED Light Therapy as an ‘add on’ to facial treatments, because your skin is targeted at a cellular level, so it can be hugely beneficial.  I am a big fan of a treatment that actually does something, that actually provides visible results.  My treatment of choice is the Mesotherapy Collagen Facial, or as I like to call it – Plump & Glow!

Mesotherapy Collagen Facial – Best Anti Ageing Treatment

Mesotherapy Collagen Facial

In my opinion, this is the best anti ageing facial treatment available.  The reason I believe this is because this facial treatment actually gets your skin to DO something and that ‘something’ is to produce fresh collagen.

In a nutshell, Mesotherapy Collagen Facial treatments stimulate your skins natural collagen production. As a result of the very minor trauma caused by this (virtually pain free, with very minimal down time) treatment, your skin starts to produce fresh collagen. As your skin repairs, you will notice that lines and wrinkles soften and your skin starts to look and feel plumper and fresher.  Days 3-5 are the real ‘WOW’ days, once the fresh collagen has been produced and you can really see the difference.

Collagen is so, so important when it comes to our skin health.  Collagen is a protein and it is a major component of your skin. It’s what keeps your skin looking plump and youthful, whilst also affecting hydration and elasticity too. Our body is incredible at producing collagen in our earlier years, but from early to mid twenties, our collagen production slows down every year and therefore our collagen levels in our skin drop. This is why you see the signs of ageing creeping in from as early as your late 20’s.   Whilst some facials can help to improve the look and feel of your skin, there is more that you can do with the help of supplements. Collagen supplements have been around for some time now, with bold claims and celebrity endorsements. But do they really work?

Do Collagen Supplements work?

I’m going to share with you how I came to use collagen supplements and how I decided which brand to use.

When I was 40 I was due to have surgery.  I was well aware by this point, of the ever declining collagen levels in my body. I could see my laughter and expression lines becoming ever more visible! I knew I wouldn’t heal as well in my 40’s as I had done after surgery in my 20’s and 30’s. I wanted to try and give my body the best possible chance of recovery, so that I would have minimal scarring and post surgical inflammation.

Having a background in Nutritional Therapy, I have always believed in an ‘outside in and inside out’ approach.  Basically, you need to be mindful of what you put in to your body, as well as thinking about what’s going on on the outside.   So I started researching collagen supplements. Have you tried to research collagen supplements?? It’s an absolute minefield! It took me weeks to narrow down brands that I would consider and even longer to actually do detailed comparisons.  I was looking at the collagen levels, other beneficial ingredients, sugar levels, it needed to be lactose and gluten free. Oh and I also wanted one with hyaluronic acid (great for hydration levels) and one that was easy to take and tasted nice.   Had a pretty tall ‘wish list’ didn’t I!

                                                                   Rejuvenated Collagen Shots

I finally settled on Rejuvenated Collagen Shots. There, my decision was made!  I started taking them around 5 weeks before my surgery, I figured it would be a good idea to improve my skin health in advance.   I was genuinely staggered by what happened.  I had had acute dry eye syndrome for a long time, I was actually under an Ophthalmic Surgeon at the time I started taking Collagen Shots. I used to wake up in the night with my eyelids literally stuck to my eyeballs – very painful.

Within two weeks of taking Collagen Shots, my dry eye syndrome had gone – not just improved – gone!  On top of that, my eczema on my eyelids and hands vanished, as did the dry patches on my elbows.  That was all before the surgery too.  After my surgery,   I healed better than I had ever healed before. My scarring is barely visible and when I returned to see my surgeon 3 months on, he was very impressed at how well I had healed (smug smile from me!).  To give you some idea, I’d had around 14 operations at that point  – so I had a pretty good benchmark!

I was so impressed with the results, that I’ve now been taking Rejuvenated Collagen Shots for nearly 4 years. I also started taking the H30 Night Repair Hyaluronic Supplement and Skin Perfection Capsules  – my skin has never felt or looked so good.

Why am I telling you this?  Well, this is how I came to be a stockist:   I was so impressed with my results that I contacted Rejuvenated with my feedback and asked if I could stock their products.   I knew these products would be so beneficial to you if you are having scar improvement treatments (micro needling) or my anti ageing facials.  I could treat your skin ‘outside in’ and these supplements were the perfect ‘inside out’ treatment.    I was over the moon when Kathryn Danzey, Rejuvenated’s lovely Founder and CEO replied and said they’d love to welcome me on board as a stockist.

So many of my clients now swear by Collagen Shots and many of Rejuvenated’s other wonder products.  I love that I am able to offer you additional support to get the best possible results for you.   I know from a consumer point of view how amazing these products are, so it’s wonderful to be able to pass my experience and knowledge on to you.  The team at Rejuvenated are absolutely incredible too, which makes me even more passionate about their brand and products – it’s great to know you will always have the best customer service.

Right, that’s the facials and the supplements covered – lets have a look at products.

Best Anti Ageing Products

On to the product part of ‘Best Anti Ageing Treatment and Products’ debate! I’ve left this one until last because truly, there isn’t a ‘best anti ageing product’.  Remember that I said your skin is entirely unique to you?  Therefore your skincare range and products will be entirely unique to you too. It would be strange if we could all use the same products and get the same results wouldn’t it!

As well as being entirely unique to you, your skin will change through the day, week, month and year.  Many things will impact your skin, from hormone’s to the environment, diet to medications – plus many other things in between. So may find that you need different products at different times.  The best advice I can give you here is to go and have a consultation with a skin expert, ideally in person.   During a skin consultation, a full assessment of your skin is usually carried out, accompanied by a health and lifestyle questionnaire. This will help your therapist to recommend products and treatments that are right for you, at the right time.

Worth bearing in mind that your skin will renew and regenerate approximately every 27 days. Although cell regeneration does slow down as we mature though – just so you’re aware.  So if you are changing products, then be patient and allow your skin to adjust to your new products. Often your skin will get a little worse before it gets better, which is very normal as your skin adjusts and re balances. If you do have any inflammation or irritation, contact your therapist for advice.   I always take a couple of weeks to adjust to new products.

So don’t worry if your best friend had amazing results with that new cream that’s all over the magazines and you didn’t. It just means it wasn’t the right product for your skin. In an industry that is worth an obscene amount of money, there’s plenty more to choose from! Let you skin expert guide you and help you find your way to your best skin.

In Conclusion

As you can see, there isn’t a definitive answer to ‘Best Anti Ageing Treatment and Products’, because there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’.  We’ve covered anti ageing facials, collagen and skin supplements and also products – a whistle stop tour!  There are many different treatments and products available in Clinics and Salons today. I’ve shared my views, based my training, knowledge, experience and many, many hours of research! I am 100% a fan of treatments and products that deliver visible results, that’s my ‘thing’. I love that we can get the human body to do what it’s really good at – renew, regenerate and heal.   By combing an ‘outside in and inside out’ approach, you are ensuring that you have the best skin health possible.

It’s not just these three things that contribute towards your skin health. Your day to day diet and exercise also play a part too. It’s important to make sure you’re eating a balanced, healthy diet and getting regular exercise too!

Here’s to having your best skin ever!
