What are the BEST anti ageing treatments?
Find out how to get skin that glows and makes you feel confident.
One of the most common things I am asked is ‘What are the best anti ageing treatments?‘ . So I’m going to go through the treatments, products and lifestyle factors that can really help you to achieve your best skin ever.
Lets talk skin.
Did you know your skin is the largest organ in your body? Most people don’t think of the skin as being an organ, but that’s exactly what it is! Your skin is entirely unique to you.
You’ve probably noticed that you skin changes through the month and years? That’s completely natural, as your skin will change depending on many internal and external factors. These can include:
- Hormonal changes. This could be due to the time of the month, menopause or hormonal drug therapy.
- Stress. Stress can have a real impact on your skin, causing sensitivity, breakouts or eczema symptoms.
- Diet and Exercise: Yes, I’m sorry to say that both of these can play a very real part in your skin’s health. Looking after your digestive system and getting regular exercise can really help boost your skin health.
- Time of the year: You may notice that your skin is dry and tight in the winter months, where we are exposed to central heating and cold weather. In the summer your skin may feel oily and be prone to breakouts? All completely natural, due to the changes in temperature and sun exposure.
- Products: Are you using the right products for your skin? Often we get all starry eyed by the latest ‘must have’ product that appears in the media, but that doesn’t mean that the products is right for you. Just because your best friend has amazing results, doesn’t mean you will too.
So with all of this in mind, it’s impossible to have a ‘one size fits all’ skincare routine. It so important to ensure that your skincare treatments and products are bespoke for you. This way you can be confident that you will have your best skin possible, leaving you looking and feeling amazing!

Yes, but what ARE the BEST Anti Ageing Treatments?
You’ve still got your heart set on knowing what the BEST Anti Ageing Treatments are, haven’t you? OK, I’m going to give you a brief overview of treatments and products that may be beneficial, depending on your skin’s needs.
So lets talk lifestyle to start with (come on, lets get it out of the way!)
Think ‘inside out and outside in‘. By that I mean that it’s not only about what you put ON your skin, but also what you put IN your body. You can spend a fortune on the most expensive high-end facials and products, but if you aren’t looking after your skin through your diet and lifestyle then I’m afraid that you will always be fighting a losing battle.
Don’t panic, I’m not saying you need to eat and drink like an angel and never have fun – life is all about balance. I know you’ll have heard this many times over but drinking 8 glasses of what a day really does help. Adding foods high in omega fats, such as oily fish is great and lots of green leafy vegetables too. I try and ‘eat the rainbow’, as different colour foods offer different nutritional benefits.
Your skin will thank you for cutting back on refined sugars and carbohydrates too. Think 80/20 – make sensible choices 80% of the time and if you’re going out or fancy that delicious slice of cake – then make sure you enjoy it!
Whilst on the topic of nutrition – do you have skin that is constantly flaring up or breaking out? Recurrent dermatitis or itchy skin? It might be worth considering a potential food intolerance or hormone imbalance, as these often play a part in our skin’s behaviour. I’d recommend visiting your GP to discuss any ongoing symptoms that you are concerned about.
Have you heard of the Downward Dog? It might sound a bit odd, but it’s a yoga pose. Yoga is incredibly powerful for your skin – truly. You don’t have to launch into a high energy hot yoga class – just adding in some poses such as forward fold, downward dog and supported shoulder stand, all help to boost your circulation and improve the quality of your skin. You’ll find access to many free yoga classes and programmes online. The other bonus of practising yoga is that it helps to detoxify your body, improve your organ health and can also really help to aid sleep. In a world where you are likely to be balancing many spinning plates, it’s the perfect way to reduce your stress levels and improve your overall health – your skin will thank you for it too!
STRESS really isn’t helpful for our skin and it tends to go hand in hand with sleep issues too. Did you know that if you are stressed, you are much more likely to have increased levels of adrenaline and cortisol in your body – which leads to increased inflammation? Stress may well present itself in your skin, do you every get eczema or dry skin when you’re stressed or run down? Do you suffer with breakouts or a tired and dull complexion when you’ve been extra busy? Many of us suffer with skin issues as a result of stress, so what can you do about it?
I know it’s not always easy to reduce stress – so I won’t pretend to you that it is. The way I combat it is to try and make sure I’m in bed at a reasonable hour and that I’m relaxed when I get into bed. Having previously suffered with insomnia, this is not always easy for me! I have learnt that a bath with lavender salts, followed by lavender moisturising body balm really helps me. I have a calming tea and spritz a bit of pillow mist onto my bedding before I go to bed.
I was given some amazing advice that sleep isn’t the important thing when you get into bed – getting into bed and relaxing your whole body is what really matters. So rather than getting into bed and worrying about not getting to sleep/getting enough sleep, I’d really recommend making relaxing your body your focus. You are likely to find that this gets you off to sleep like a dream! Somehow, we all got programmed to expect 8 hours of sleep – so many of us get into bed worrying that we won’t get enough sleep – so you’re in bed immediately in a state of anxiety. If you go to bed and just focus on relaxing and switching your body and mind off, you’ll be surprised by what happens.
There are also some great apps you can download, such as CALM and HEADSPACE. I often play a relaxing meditation before bed, especially if I’ve been rushing around all day.
Lets talk BEST Anti Ageing products
I think you’ve probably gathered that there isn’t one, or even a handful of best anti ageing treatments or products! Everyone’s skin is so unique, that a skincare routine really needs to be created to suit your skin’s needs. With that said, there are two products that I absolutely swear by and are suitable for nearly everyone. I will be doing some feature articles of specific products and treatments in the coming weeks, highlighting the benefits of what I believe, are the most powerful and effective products and treatments around.
Rosehip Oil: Rosehip oil is a little wonder products and is suitable for all skin types, even oily skin. It’s a myth that you can’t use face oil if you have oily skin. Rosehip oil can actually help to balance the skin’s natural PH balance and help to reduce oiliness. Here are some of the benefits of rosehip oil (I will be doing a much bigger feature on this amazing little product very soon).
- Brightens skin.
- Helps to reduce pigmentation (dark spots).
- Super nourishing and hydrating.
- Helps to balance oily skin.
- Excellent for lines and wrinkles.
- Increased skin radiance.
- Excellent for scars (including acne scars).
- Improves overall skin health.
I mean, what’s not to love about this amazing little product! I personally use Trilogy Rosehip Oil, which is believed to be the product of choice for Kate Middleton. So if it’s good enough for the Duchess, then it’s good enough for me! You’ll find a link to it here, but it’s available from many other places too – so shop around for a good price. https://trilogyproducts.co.uk/collections/rosehip-oil
Collagen Supplements: Did you know that your collagen production start to slow down from around the age of 24-26? What sort of an age is that!!? Collagen is the protein that is responsible for our skin’s lovely plumpness that we experience in our younger years. As our own natural levels decrease, we start to see the signs of ageing creep in. So taking a good quality collagen supplement can really help to boost those collagen levels. My all time favourite is Rejuvenated Collagen Shots – I’ve been taking them for over 3 years now. I did a lot of research when I was looking to start taking them and these were by far the most superior products I could find, and they have not disappointed! I’ve written a few blogs on the wonder of Rejuvenated Collagen shots, click HERE to read more. You can also click HERE to visit their website.
So those are my two universal Best Anti Ageing products. If you’d like to have a free skin consultation to discuss your skin’s needs, then please get in touch HERE.
Lets talk BEST Anti Ageing Treatments.
I’m a big fan of treatments that actually do something, not just a treatment that pushes products around the face. Of course, the traditional type of facials can be very relaxing and it’s important to have ‘me’ time. But in a busy and demanding world, I’ll opt for the treatment that has the most powerful short and long term results every time.
Chrysalis Plump & Go Facial; If you’ve met me, then you’ll know that my favourite anti ageing treatment is meso skin needling. I also like to call this my Chrysalis Plump & Glow facial, because literally, that’s what’s happening! The reason I love this treatment so much is because it works in two different ways. Firstly, medical grade serums are pushed into the deeper layers of you skin, where they are more effective. Secondly (here’s the magic), the gentle skin needling actually stimulates your skin’s natural collagen production. This means that this treatment carried on working for you long after you’ve left me.
A bespoke serum will be selected for you, depending on your skin. By using a bespoke serum, I can ensure that your skin is getting the best from the treatment, helping you to achieve amazing results.
My Plump & Go Facial benefits are:
- Anti Ageing.
- Reduced lines and wrinkles.
- Improved skin tone and texture.
- Improved radiance.
- Targets pigmentation.
- Helps to reduce breakouts.
- Nourishes the skin at a deeper level, ensuring your products are more effective.
- Targets smokers lines and acne scarring.
- Improved overall skin health.
Now – How about fuller lips and reduced lines and wrinkles, without a needle: Have you noticed that your lips are thinner than they used to be? Do you have more lines around your mouth than you used to have? This is really common and something I have experienced myself (I’mm 44 at the time of writing).
What if I said you could get fuller lips and less lines / wrinkles without a needle? It is absolutely true! I had this treatment myself before training, as I wanted to experience it without an ‘insider’ knowledge. I have been so impressed. This no- needle technique is amazing, you will get subtle, natural results, without a needle and without pain. This treatment really offers the ‘WOW’ factor when it comes to anti ageing. I use Hyalax, which is a hyaluronic acid (HA) product. We all naturally have HA in our skin, so this product is safe to use and is easily absorbed by the skin. Results last up to 9 months and it’s the perfect option if you want to target your lips of deeper lines and wrinkles. No needle, no pain!
Lets go deeper: with LED Light Therapy? This treatment has been around for years. LED Light Therapy works at a cellular level in the skin, much deeper than any products can ever reach. Different lights target different areas, so the programme time and type is bespoke for your needs. You may have one light therapy colour session, or I might incorporate two – three lights into your treatment. Each LED Light programme targets the skin at different levels, depending on the skin concern. This treatment is a perfect add on to Plump & Go Facials. LED Light Therapy treatments target:
- Anti Ageing – boosts collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
- Anti inflammatory.
- Reduces pigmentation.
- Balances skin and reduces break outs.
- Improves skin clarity and radiance.
- Accelerates wound healing and aids lymphatic drainage.
- Increase blood circulation.
- Improves overall skin health.
- Brightens the skin.
The Neoelegance Lumineo is my preferred LED Light Therapy system, as it’s red, blue and green lights have all been through clinical trials to ensure they deliver targeted results. These are currently the only 3 light therapies that have been through clinical trials and Neoelegance have one of the only green light therapies to have passed.
